4 Years Later... Same Processor???

have mid 2011 mba. has 1.7 ghz core i5 processor.

bought new / refurbished 2014 mba apple store. has 1.4 ghz core i5 processor.

mean 4 year old laptop has faster processor or missing here :eek:
 

your suspicion correct.. you're missing something. cpu performance dictated far more clock speed.

take glance performance chart, you'll notice new computer faster in single , multicore performance. http://www.primatelabs.com/blog/2014/05/macbook-air-performance-may-2014/

i'm sure you've noticed battery life great deal better.

integrated graphics in 2014 mba huge step forward compared 2011.

newer chipset allows things faster ram, faster ssd, , more.

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
