Help removing partition on Macbook Pro


hi all,

trying reformat macbook pro factory settings, includes removing partitions , wiping hdd. restart macbook recovery mode - went disk utility - erased hdd on both partition(i have 2) - tried remove 1 of partition got error message.

"partition failed - partition failed error: couldn't unmount disk."

i've tried looking error pretty general , couldn't find sure fix. can me out? advice appreciated. in advance!
 

you booted on external drive correct?

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
