MacBook 1.1Ghz 256GB SG - My thoughts


first off, got available in uk. cancelled apple store order turned out pc world on oxford street had stock. order process frustrating thankfully machine turned out great.

sold macbook pro retina 13inch 2013 fund purchase , bit concerned giving power , ports when thought realised time connected laptop when using @ desk @ work. rest of time thing i’d connect power.

i’m manager of web design company , typically @ work i’ll running: outlook 2016, safari, chrome, skype, mail, spotify, sublime text, ia writer, excel, pages, logmein, onedrive business (beta), dropbox, , parallels windows 7 time time throughout day. @ first handled of impressively not slowing down during backups usb3.0 hard drive.

things changed @ point , started getting frustrated increasing sluggishness , hanging. realised when i’d added external monitor (hdmi running 1920x1080) , ran dual-screen performance taking nose dive (especially when parallels running). usable frustrating. week i’ve been running machine @ work lid down , it’s full speed.

think enough has been said keyboard; it’s great once adjust although find switching between standard apple keyboard , can bit confusing - i’d see bluetooth apple butterfly keyboard. battery life excellent, ability charge overnight ipad charger has come in handy few times. docking @ work via 1 usb-c cable neat , quick. i’m still staggered fact there isn’t option of usb-c extension cable can’t hide display dongle under desk].

trackpad best i’ve ever used , when used being able click anywhere on glass (including top of pad) don’t want go older style. 1 port has not been issue @ all. have usb-c digital adaptor on desk @ work , usb-c usb 3.0 in bag. i’ve done video editing in final cut pro x , it’s been fine (hd not tried 4k).

me, it’s best laptop i’ve owned although beating mbp ’13 on size, looks , weight. if 3 things aren’t of concern pro.

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
