after super sour experience faulty evga gtx 680 mac edition, it's on it's way being returned , i'm not sure if it's worth splashing on high end gpu again. stick amd time, worth getting flashed 7950 on official apple 5870? there's no way i'm going pay $500 "official" 7950 macsales, either.
 

the 5870 pretty fast in benchmarks compared 5770, can lot better. 5870 doesn't support metal. if you're going upgrade, skip model.

many people have , enjoy 7950, there seems issue card glitching , pausing once in while. passed 1 myself , got 7970 3gb reference card flashed mvc. modifid card full 5gt/s link speed, 2x 6 pin power plugs, , full boot screens on every port. cost $360 , worth every penny. it's been flawless, fast, , quiet me. if you're going stick amd , don't want spend $500, it's winner. if want go route, email mvc or chris through website , give them few days reply. that's how got mine. it's showing out of stock, got me 1 in less 48 hrs. card same d700 in nmp , supports new metal api.

there faster cards available, come in @ higher price. don't regret going route @ all. never have driver issues upon os updates either. it's great card fcpx , phoroshop cs6. don't game, should smack 5770 around red headed stepchild.

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
