hi all
i’ve been scratching head 1 , i’m hoping hear might know answer.
have 2011 mac book pro spec follows
- 2.3 ghz intel core i5
- 4gb 1333 mhz ddr3
- 500 gb sata hard disk
want upgrade memory 8gb , change hard disk solid state drive.
looking @ size ssd buy (240gb or 480gb) , looked @ current storage use. (i got info clicking apple logo > mac)
breaks down follows (i’ve rounded figures or down)
struck me apps 69gb. seems massive amount of disk space. clicked (finder > applications > info) , applications folder 13 gb.
here questions
1 – why apps showing 69gb in 1 location , then13gb in another?
2 – true figure?
3 – how sort problem when set ssd set correctly. don’t want buy 240gb ssd find 56gb used ‘ghost apps’
appreciated
cheers
james
could 1 or more of apps has become "clogged up" temporary files, etc?
suggestion:
download called "diskwave":
http://diskwave.barthe.ph
small, free, useful utility show (which apps?) taking space on drive.
