Updated to Yosemite - need advice for Photos

hi, updated mba yosemite , it's transferred iphoto library photos ... expected. i'm not unhappy, entire photo library has gone through ton of transition since started iphoto 1.0

anyways, i'm thinking may want start fresh photos.

there easy way take have photos import "original" files out of iphoto library , leave of edits (which take lot of space since versions of iphoto kept copy of every edited image, simple rotations) behind?

also, there easy way, within photos, archive older photos off of main ssd? wife's iphoto library 200gb , she's on 256gb ssd (which can't yet upgraded). i'd take care of before upgrading yosemite.

thanks.
