Why the mid-level 2011 minis burn out


it took me while track down, thought i'd explain why macmini5,2 mc816ll/a mid-level mid-2011 mini burns out. appreciate can refine or correct story.

apple mac minis , mac books (and other apple products) have heat sinks installed low-quality thermal paste. guess in china figure why not save few cents , apple not care. units age paste dries out heat sink progressively less effective , computer chips hotter should. temperature sensors turn machine off before burns up. means, mac gets older can expect turn off no obvious reason because overheating.

besides thermal paste in macs, there special problem radeon graphics chips in 2011 mac minis , in of mac books 2011. radeon chips connected logic board defective wires break upon frequent overheating. among cognoscenti defect called "radeongate". combination of cheap paste , bad wires means 2011 models radeon chips burn out. mac book owners sued apple issued extended warranty repair mac books not mac mini. owners of macmini5,2 mc816ll/a are, say, screwed.

if try discuss of genius bar tech (it he) vehemently deny of @ same time know awful lot lawsuit , not successful, though extended mac book warranty there see. guess called denying liability. have no idea how infuriating lied company have grown , trusted right thing. guess jobs , wozniack in money no matter books , movies changing world.
 

all thermal paste has half life. apple should using thermal pad these hold better.

graphics chip it's solder that's issue reflow solves issue short term.

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
