iMac early 2008 slowing down


hello, created account when got used 2008 imac. 20" c2d 2.4ghz. guys helped me upgrade 2gb 4gb of ram. thank again help.

running osx mavericks have seen how many people didn't yosemite.
these days if have open browser, firefox or chrome, after open few pages of ram used , memory clean needs run , clean things up.

chose go 4gb because official maximum, took @ cost of 2 4gb chips , not think want put more money in older machine.

have advice on how reduce ram use?
 

according mactracker, maximum memory 6.0 gb, not 4.0 gb. you'll need 1 4 gb sodimm, keeping 1 of 2gb modules , replacing other. trouble is, they're no longer manufactured in enough quantities push down price...

what's memory pressure-- green, yellow, or red?

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
