Need a music production software for Mac (or iPad)
i'm looking music production software on mac. need following;
- relatively lightweight (i use 2007 imac. runs alright, lags sometimes.)
- ability record electric guitar via usb or digitally
- powerful vocal editing. flex pitch on logic pro x. more simple autotune.
- relatively inexpensive. preferably under $150-ish. lpx out of question, because isn't lightweight enough.
use garageband currently. it's great, need more powerful vocal editing. also, i'm not looking sound robotic.
for price range logic pro x is best bet, runs fine on computer's i've tried on , it's feature set fantastic, plus can pair ipad , use ipad controller - wouldn't rule out. experience in garageband adjust nicely , give opportunities learn deeper tools of logic. decent daw (cubase, ableton, logic etc) going draw bit mac run nicely regardless - value wise logic flat out wins however.
if want 'powerful vocal editing' you're going need professional grade daw , bite bullet - if want 'lightweight' software you're going have rely on weaker daws such audacity, , don't want using music production.
i'm running 2012 mbp , bottles out when using 70-80 tracks simultaneously - , there's work arounds freezing tracks or offloading data through node if mate's round laptop.
