Problem unzipping Files on OS X


hi,

hoping file issue we’re experiencing on mac.

of our customers have reported unzipping issues our files, seems affect macs. problem occurs our larger downloads (5gb plus).

in order cater both mac , pc users remove mac files on pc (windows 7 professional), zip file on pc , upload them our amazon s3 server.

smaller files don’t seem cause issues, larger file show following error on mac:

unable expand “file-xyz.zip” “download location” (error 1 - operation not permitted)

strangely error seems occur when using in-built unzipping software, if file being unzipped ‘unarchiver’ works fine.

have been told caused zipping file on pc, , while have found software removes mac files zipped file on mac itself, hoping opinion on this.

if using built in windows zip app win zip (albeit stripped down , not bells , whistles of full version) , may want see if have issues in stripped down form of large zip creations. sounds mixed in there file size limitation somewhere.

may have compatibility issues. have downloading files unix/linux use seen recommend files downloaded linux based system used on linux based system. have never had issues here gather if bothered put statement in if cover own butt step, may have come in past warrant covering butt basically.

looking @ buying 3rd zippers option? @ least test?


reason asking win zip (in windows format or full blown) not, imo, best app out there. others implementations tbh. use, imo, better algorithms. 5 gb zip file generation i'd recommend if possible trialing other options , @ time generate files , resultant size of zip created. 1 avoids proprietary formats ideal needs. rar can proprietary. , in case of mac os command line app (i can work cli...but not complaining if gave gui interface 1 day).

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
