Fast SSD External Thunderbolt for iMac 27' video editing


i got 500gb ssd base new imac 27 5k, wanted know ppl using additional space rather gettin 1 tb internal ssd(which crazy expense).

looking fast access , 1 tb in size external ssd video editing of 4k files.
 

i have 2 of these on 2 different imacs, used bootable clone ssds in case internal ssds die.

pulled hdds out of them , put in own ssds (one owc, other intel) , put leftover hdds these:

it's not cheapest solution, end 1tb portable drive can setup time machine backup drive.

drop in 1tb samsung 850 evo ssd thunderbolt enclosure (1st link) , have fast external drive.

if need really fast thunderbolt external storage, you're either looking @ expensive lacie little big disk or owc thunderbay 4 mini 4 ssds in raid 0. have latter configured 4 x 500gb samsung 850 evo ssds giving me combined storage of 2tb, cost us$1100, though deliver awesome speed 1140mb/sec read, 970mb/sec write.

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
