Is a vanilla 750Ti a worthwhile 5.1 / 5770 upgrade?

the question's in title - i've been reading various threads graphics cards options 5.1 8 core , coming round notion of more cost-effective latest , greatest. can pick pc 750ti around 100 gbp , looks comfortable upgrade stock 5770. don't need boot screen, use parallels rather boot camp if need , play occasional games (diablo 3 often).

has else done this? aware of before go ahead - pitfalls, there specific 750 tis should go / avoid, obvious options @ same sort of price point? macupgrades.co.uk have flashed r9 270x 240gbp i'm not convinced need sort of horsepower.

in advance

the 750ti (quite lot) faster hd 5770.
wouldn't go entry-level maxwell card long isn't supported oob. you'll find supported kepler-based nvidia or hd 7xxx cards same prices on ebay (not new however). in opinion high-end maxwell cards (gtx 970 , above) worth webdriver trouble.

suggestion used 7870 (it's literally same mentioned r9 270) ebay. outperform 750ti , can flashed without trouble, since don't care bootscreen might go kepler card well.
