New Payment Reader at McDonalds?


over weekend noticed local mcdonalds (in minneapolis, mn) had installed new type of reader next normal credit card terminal nfc reader. looks sort of honeywell optical scanner. have idea for? seems sort of thing currentc require, haven't heard of mcdonalds being part of rollout. there other payment systems use type of reader? of terminals @ restaurant had them installed.

i thought food items sell in display case (e.g. bundt cakes on breakfast menu), maybe used other stuff too.
