Need new HD advice


have had problems mb pro freezing after start , have not been able fix issue. i've been told need replace hd.. been told upgrade ssd.

yes or no? advice on kind go with?

also.. think i'll have trouble getting files off current hard drive.. freezing fast not think can transfer thumb drive etc. advice? thanks!!
 

can tell model of mbpro have? year relevant info, think... info can add great.

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
