Intermittent Logic Board Problem with Spilled Tea

hello, first time poster here.

computer late 2011 macbook pro, 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, 500gb ata (approximately 50% full), operating normally. here's timeline of events:

6/23: on airplane when ~2-4oz of hot tea spilled near upper left section of keyboard (while operating). computer shut down within 5-10sec. dried apparent liquid on outside , rebooted 5min later. seemed work, slow.

later day, removed bottom cover , inspected. no apparent liquid there. ran aht reveal logic board fault. enroute on cross-country road trip, shut down , closed up.

6/25: visited local mac repair shop advice. removed bottom cover, cleaned, inspected. no visible damage. advised going apple store consult.

6/27: @ apple store, activity monitor showed 300%+ cpu usage kernel task. advised logic board fault (voltage sensor) , $700+ repair. apple rep suggested leaving computer open/off 2 weeks , restart, fix problem.

6/27-7/11: advised, left computer open/off. placed near box fan additional airflow. applied hair dryer on low setting 5min/day.

7/11: turn computer on, , worked perfectly. kernel task usage appeared normal (<2%). no problems. rejoice!

7/11-7/15: worked through ~15h of use , 10+ shutdown/boot cycles. no problems.

7/15: following unremarkable shutdown/reboot, same problem returned. slow, 300%+ cpu usage kernel task. reboot same. discovered under user account, computer still ran slow, kernel task overload did not show on activity monitor.

7/16: after 24h off air blowing on it, computer rebooted , ran normally.

7/18: after 36h off air blowing, computer rebooted run normally. restart , aht revealed same logic board fault. restart run original problem.

computer's been shut down since. so... i've read here, slow operation seems consistent spilled liquid, logic board failure, , buying new computer. however, fact problem seemingly resolved drying treatment, returned, , kernel task indicator inconsistent across users makes me think there's hope. perhaps software bug introduced original hardware insult? maybe should dry out longer?

appreciate advice or perspectives!

very sorry hear mbp. when spill happened should not have been turned on day or dry out before use liquid can short board. so, may not have helped. water alone can cause irreparable damage logic board when other liquids worse can under chips , grow bacteria or mold on board. @ point been month , still having issues. have imagine dry now. these steps have been doing have been surprisingly working band-aid seems. may have repair.
