iMac 2007 To CPU or RAM?

hello people
have old imac bought in 2007...can't afford buy new mac gotta can keep using , though it's old, has seldom failed me.
i'm running yosemite had upgrade run program uni (spss). it's getting little old , can understand gets slower maybe can save it. hoping add more ram , running 2gb @ moment , can have maximum, believe of 4gb in 2 slots so...if add more ram need buy 2x 2gb of rams , insert...that seems easy going cheaper? perhaps around $300 aud. can't afford have done me i'm clever enough myself...have done if pcs looooong time ago. heading...

until told me upgrade cpu, never crossed mind. i'm not sure what's involved in upgrading cpu , though learn, think, it's still looks little daunting.

can please advise me better option on budget , how easy change cpu. hate stuff up.

appreciated.

hi
i'm using 2007 imac , works yosemite, have 4 gb , upgraded hdd 512gb ssd. ssd made huge difference... before hdd clunk away endlessly , getting annoying use. ssd it's pleasant machine work on, on on par 2011 macbook air i'd say.

upgrade ram @ least 4gb , stick ssd in first before doing else. upgrading ram easy, putting ssd in harder there's lots of video out there help. way apple 4gb max believe 2007 imacs can go 6gb 2 + 4 sticks.
