Putting drive from old Time Capsule into new TC


i'm thinking of moving latest gen tc have couple of new macbooks ac wi-fi. have 1st gen tc working fine. i've upgraded twice, , has seagate 6tb drive in - see post on upgrade here http://forums.macrumors.com/threads...for-time-capsule.1059249/page-7#post-20523047

plan buy (less expensive) latest gen 2tb tc , putting 6tb drive old tc it. has done tc-to-tc drive swap , if new tc recognize old tc's drive, or old tc drive need reformatted ("repaired") new tc?

if possible i'd able keep old tm backups on 6tb drive (five machines it) , move new tc.

Find my Friends
