Superdrive not detecting some dvds as burned

hello,

when insert data dvds in superdrive of mac pro, window telling me dvd empty if it's not. example, i've burned windows 7 dvd on imac 2013. can read dvd on imac, superdrive of mac pro keeps telling empty. same result other dvds filled sort of datas , burned using mac. strange thing have no problems commercial movie dvds. detected , can watch them. i've tried on partition yosemite 10.10.3 installed pike's boot.efi , on partition mac os 10.6.8.

machine :

mac pro rev 1,1 2006
ram 7 gb / ati radeon hd 5870 1024 mo

thank

i've seen many times in years past. usually relates 1 or 2 things.

1) failing read laser in drive (too weak burned media)

2) dye used in dvd not compatible drive's calibration (usually firmware update can fix this, don't know if superdrive has repository updated firmware)

solution (in absence of firmware update) use known compatible dvds , if doesn't work, replace drive.

these main reasons happens, not only reasons (just likely).
