Pedometer for iPhone 5c


hi, wondering if recommend pedometer app mom's iphone 5c? tried installing 1 have used on iphone 6 on it, find uses m7 , m8 co-processor iphone 5s, 6 , 6 plus.

i'm on iphone 4. tried pedometer app runtastic seems eat lot of battery power when phone's sitting idle on desk. (phone lost 6% charge within 10min, not doing else having pedometer app running in background).

girl-friend's on galaxy s3 mini , has app hardly has impact on battery life. app not available iphone.
surely there iphone works & doesn't drain battery. (i prefer not having turn app on , off each time walk around...)
