Speck MightyShell + Faceplate for iPhone 6+: CandyShell on Steroids!

looking case serious drop protection , great integrated screen protector? speck mightyshell + faceplate iphone 6 plus looking for. me, case seems candyshell on steroids. offers 2x military drop test standard protection (which understand 8 feet) versus 1x of regular candyshell , has integrated screen protector--the faceplate--which doubles iphone's screen shatter protection. has grippy rubber sides should lessen likelihood of drops, scratch resistant back, , considerable protective lip around screen.

overall, mightyshell, , particularly impressed faceplate. has excellent optical clarity , touch sensitivity. similar setup thule atmos x4, except faceplate easier install, , doesn't block use of control center swipe-ups. fair, stratoshield screen protector on atmos x4 offers 5x shatter protection, versus 2x of faceplate, however. base cases of 2 similar in offer considerable drop protection--6.6 feet atmos x4 versus 8 feet mightyshell--and nice , grippy in hand. personally, think atmos x4 bit more attractive mightyshell, , thinner, mightyshell should bit more protective. i'm aware mightyshell didn't fare atmos x4 in mobile reviews eh's drop tests, think important note had few sample cases test, i'm not sure how statistically significant results are. drops fickle--you can drop phone @ wrong angle , unfortunate results, maybe mightyshell having particularly unfortunate day when aaron @ mobile reviews eh drop test torturing it. don't me wrong--i loyal subscriber mobile reviews eh , respect reviews , methodologies, there element of luck present. don't drop testing myself--i'm way protective of iphone that--so relying on manufacturer's stated specs.

pros:

1. excellent protection: mightyshell drop tested meet 2x military drop test standards, believe means surviving series of 8 foot drops various angles. protective cases have 4 foot or 6 foot drop test certification; mightyshell aims higher standard.

2. higher lip: enhanced lip should give lots of protection delicate screen of iphone 6 plus.

3. great grip: perimeter of case encased in extremely grippy rubber, making accidental drops less likely.

4. scratch resistant: of mightyshell made of sturdy matte polycarbonate material extremely scratch resistant , doesn’t show smears or fingerprints.

5. build quality: construction feels solid.

6. third party cable compatibility: mightyshell’s generously sized port openings should accommodate third party headphone , lightning cables ease.

7. lifetime warranty: speck has built case last!

8. easy faceplate install: optional faceplate screen protector 1 of easiest screen protectors i’ve installed.

9. excellent optical clarity , usability: faceplate screen protector has extremely optical clarity , touch sensitivity.

 love faceplate!

10. 2x shatter protection: faceplate screen protector increases overall protection offered mightyshell adding 2x shatter protection iphone’s delicate touchscreen.

cons:
1. harder out of pocket: grippy rubber on case sides makes slide less in , out pocket, trade-off made grippy cases.

2. increased size: larger candyshell grip in length, width , depth due increased protective features.

3. install/removal more challenging: little harder candyshell on , off iphone due higher lip of mightyshell. not great frequent case changers.
