11" MBA 2015 Model. Worth this price?


iphone user since 4, , ipad 3, first dive owning apple computer osx. upgrading 2008 windows pc laptop. lot of traveling abroad work , old 2008 14" asus isn't cutting anymore. weighs in @ 4.5-5.5lbs if recall. not ideal traveling. getting mba knock off close 3.5lbs. want familiar osx, have never used. laptop start. it's ideal traveling due it's size , weight.

i'm eyeing mba 11" 2015 edition (11.6in/i5-broadwell?/4gb/128gb flash mem) came out couple months ago. price @ bestbuy $899, default price anywhere base model. it's on sale $799, $100 off. received $100 off coupon because work @ university educator. coupon works sale price, bringing down cost $699+tax (roughly $750).

use ms office, such word, pp, , excel. email , web browsing. $750w/tax worth price new base model 2015 mba 11"? run smoothly yosemite osx considering using said? input or opinion on price appreciated, thanks!
 

don't let low price (for mac) or size fool you. 11" 2015 mba beast of computer. macbook pro line isn't faster.

whether or not it's worth money, you'd hard pressed find pc same size, features, , build quality. being said, it's pretty easy find pc that's bigger less features (more power-hungry processor, etc.) lot less money, depends on goals , budget.

sounds you're learning os x, 11" mba great choice.

Which Macbook Pro to Get?

i'm getting first mac laptop, work i'll heavily use personally. work exclusively office 365 apps, web, , basic network stuff ssh. personal use, use photoshop , scrivener, , light video editing (family stuff). use laptop portable media player when traveling. may add games, turn-based 4x games (civilization, etc.) not super graphic-intense stuff. should add have powerful desktop tons of storage already, not system. have hard, non-negotiable budget of $2500 must include applecare ($249 13", $349 15"). i'm considering 2 configs: 13" macbook pro w/3.1ghz dual core i5, 16gb ram, 512gb flash ($2448 w/ac) or 15" macbook pro w/2.5ghz quad core i7, 16gb ram, 256gb flash ($2488 w/ac) comes down 15" having faster procs less storage, while 13" has more storage slower procs. i'm leaning 15" assumption 256gb ought enough , can plug in thunderbolt add-on hard drive...right? there ways more storage ,...
