USB charging via iMac/ other power adapters


i plugged usb-c usb-a cable new macbook imac , while i'm using macbook, battery indicator has little lightning bolt indicating it's charging. if click icon, says "battery not charging" under says "power source: power adapter." figured since using power adapter power, may not charging battery @ least not draining it.

while using (a few hours) battery level dropped 70% 40%. heard people saying macbook can charge/not drain battery hooked imac or ipad/iphone power adapter? don't need charge, nice if use power source , not dip battery while work during day. able figure out solution this, of course other using power adapter intended macbook?

 

there whole thread on page, updated today or yesterday topic. in short, imac isn't going provide enough usb power charge while macbook in use. charge if shut down. can use ipad or other similar 2.1 amp+ charger fine.

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
