Sometimes better gear helps

i'd still call myself amateur in regards image editing. recent departure of aperture has allowed me chance make decision game bit in post processing. i'm not sure agree results i've been pleased far.

point of post? info others might making similar decisions. old editing setup aperture, nik plugins, , 2012 macbook pro (laptop screen). have "upgraded" capture 1 pro, nik plugins, asus pro 248q (pre-calibrated monitor), , spider 4 express calibrator (and 2012 mbp). i'd call budget upgrade setup can calibrated.

monitor working out far , man upgrade laptop screen. lot more detail , accurate colors help. here's 2 versions of image. first original setup , second new "calibrated" setup. personal opinion only, of course, think temperature, color, , brightness better on new setup.
