i ordered 13" rmbp 256 gb , 16gb ram, after many sleepless nights trying decide between , 15".
don't use mac used when in college. these days tons of reports, , keynote presentations. surf web , watch movies , tv shows.
when in college, used 3d modeling , make blue prints.
tried convince myself of 15" because, doesn't want have best thing? however, tried remain objective , realistic needs vs wants. having 15" having expensive sports car in city can't go past 30 due heavy traffic. underused.
15" upgrade addition of broadwell , force trackpad. think apple wait @ least next year bring redesign macbook pro line (different colors, thiner, wireless charging, whatnot).
hope can out if new mbp, , whenever need change again, new redesign , not internal upgrades. although, still hanging iphone 4s because don't design of iphone 6. doesn't happen mbp redesign if ever happens.
i'm in similar dilemma lol. i'm writing 2010 mbp 13" , tempted 15" screen size , discrete gpu option. i'm going wait until wwdc (i edit video , design living), it's tough call. think you're right refresh being broadwell , new dgpu option. if won't use features, grabbing refreshed 13" call (at least until skylake comes out!)

i use 2 things safari: fastscripts cmd-# shortcuts tabs in safari firefox/chrome (which not necessary in el capitan, thankfully), , safari keyword search keyword searching in bar (e.g., "wp spokane" searches wikipedia article spokane , goes if/when possible). latter: safari keyword search abandonware. creator has nothing on home page nor github in years. there little bug where, inexplicably, dumps saved keywords, requiring manual reimports. i've tried omnikey , don't based on how can't handle encoding of spaces in search strings, how stores saved entries. keysearch: don't know how handles spaces in searches. may abandonware, has not had major update since updated safari 6 years ago. glims: don't know if still around. overkill anyway. have other suggestions on minimalist, still-supported utility keyword searching in address bar? nice able "wp" , "i" , "a" wikipedia / google image / ama...
