hi guys
@ absolute wits end imac running osx yosemite....
initial problem "supposedly dudded hd" (question mark et al.
apple replaced hd , claimed not recover data. (thank dog time machine)
anyway.... got imac new 1tb hd, booted , recognised required data , appeared doing great job. post restart , failed boot (recognised hd , general machinations though gray screen revolving single color wheel of death)
tried rebooting no avail.
disconnected ext devices, ethernet , shut down wifi router - no joy
tried rebooting , did:
smc
nvram (never got far)
recovery mode
safe , verbose boots - no joy either
(hanging before gets far.
did reboot in recovery mode - zip
doesnt far
absolutely nothing!!!
gut feel there nothing wrong hd in first place , no effort undertaken see whether a) hd ok and; b) no effort done "retrieve data.
suggestions or experience?
forward constructive opinions
andrew
could potentially ram or mlb. mentioned tried recovery mode (cmd+r?). boot that? did have opportunity verify disk in disk utility or try clean install (wipe macintosh hd/reinstall os x)?
@ rate if it's still under warranty i'd take apple store.
