Photoshop...decisions....

hi all,

know there have been tonnes of posts regarding performance of retina macbook. i'm hoping can me decide.

have (well had until weekend when storm hit , killed imac, being covered under insurance) desktop intensive work on, mba.

have late 2010 macbook 11" 1.6 core2 duo 4 megs of ram has not skipped beat until in terms of being able handle tethered shoots aperture/lightroom , 1-3 layer retouching in photoshop. fashion photography i'm concerned single single layer textures/spot adjusts , levels initial markups before going retoucher, or if simple shoot being able work on raw file (<50mb) on commute. combine plates shot 3-4 layers or less. mba has been fine until few months ago has started lag bit in terms of file size me working on larger res raw images, the latest cc 2015 version of photoshop.

i'm assuming if 5 year old mba handle of 2015 rmb able handle without hitch, need sure.

in australia same price can 13 rmpb same price i've become used small portable machine , prefer not having lug weight around, when on location have carload of gear anyway. 1 port fine me provided have usb type dongle, port i've ever needed usb , mini display/thunderbolt external display.

i'm sold on space grey 1.1ghz rmb hoping hear others retouching give me idea of how it's working them...

cheers!

hi there!

got 1,2 ghz macbook- had bought mid-range 13" macbook pro found way bulky , not powerful enough play 1 game enjoy playing time time. returned , got macbook.

have far not happier changed mind. little laptop great job use for: light gaming, office , emails , bit of photoshop , trading.

had online- of lag see time time present on 13" macbook pro. watched got windows 10 running on in bootcamp- performance buttery smooth. in other words hardware quite capable software not optimized.

advice go it- of course need weigh advantages , disadvantages. me, decided against keeping 13"- have not regretted doing far!
