Slow Time Machine backups


i have macbook 2008 usb 2.0 . encrypted partition on external hdd , chose backup 200 gb of data. after 30-40 min noticed backed 22gb of data. thought because chose encrypt backup. canceled backup, ticked off "encrypt data" because partition encrypted anyways , re-did backup. same thing extremely slow.

@ first started saying "decrypting" thought decrypting partition. backedup , took couple of hours "decrypt" again. opened disk utility , said partition still "encrypted" not sure time machine "decrypting". whole process took 6 hours!!

normal? have carbon copy cloner , backed 55gb of data in 40min on encrypted partition on same hdd.

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
