Erasing SSD in MacBook Air?

hi,

on past 6 months or i've been debating on macbook air. i've come plan want do, have 1 problem.

first off, here's plan: have 2014 11.6" macbook air -- 4 gb of ram , 256 gb ssd. i'd sell , 13.3" macbook air.

this, i'd first external hard drive (via usb 3.0) , take of info 11.6" put onto 13.3" if sell 11.6" (even if wipe clean) i've been told ssd doesn't erase?

that's biggest problem @ point. i've been through giving mac away before different story. had macbook pro wiped clean , gave cousin. i've read ssd doesn't erase traditional hard drive. so, if can't wipe ssd clean of personal info, wouldn't want sell someone.

know how can safely , wipe ssd clean? figure if can't find solution, i'll go apple store , seek help.

11.6" macbook air in great condition, use college, , don't heavy lifting (such video or photo editing). reason want sell because i'd have 13.3" screen. i'm ready upgrade, first have figure out ssd-erase issue.

if has advice or first-hand experience this, i'd appreciate help. thanks.
