I moved the Music folder to my external hard drive but


i not sure if nothing lost in process.

still haven't deleted original music folder on mbp. had 30gb of memory usage , have ssd full, decided move it.

in middle of it said there error didn't read , clicked ok (i think 1 file didn't move).

when woke after slept while moving it said 20 minutes left till completion. , when checked afterwards window showing moving of files gone, guess complete now.

i'm shy delete music folder though because i'm afraid maybe not may have been copied.

how can check if 2 folders' contents identical?
 

open terminal.app in utilities folder type in , hit enter key.

  rsync -avp --dry-run /users/user_name/music /volumes/external_drive_name/
this if music folder @ root of new drive want change name of external see in finder or on desktop , user name in first part. rsync program copy files , compare copy correct ensuring every file in source directory on new copy. if shows needs copy files new remove --dry-run it.

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
