El Capitan Performance on Mid 2007 iMac


just got 8 year old imac off in-laws they've upgraded macbook air moving house flat no room 20" imac.

first thing did upon getting home install fresh install of osx 10.11 el capitan dp1 see how runs compared me mid 2012 non retina macbook pro.

did clean install off usb stick , used migration assistant move stuff macbook pro onto imac clone of macbook.

can wow!

8 year old machine runs surprisingly well, little lagging, animations smooth, , runs well.

rocking base model 20" imac mid 2007 upgraded ram 3gb, 320gb hdd, 2.4ghz core 2 duo, ati radeon hd 2600 pro 256mb of memory. lowest spec machine (bar gig on minimum of ram) run el capitan.

few things have noticed when interacting menu bar on videos playing in safari videos drop few frames , appear stutter (netflix)

surprisingly machine doesn't support airplay mirroring due age, airplay icon appears in safari if send video appletv although not tested yet wife using tv lol.

overall though very pleased performance given age of machine , being above minimum below recommended ram.

wants me try , test (as long doesn't require paid apps) let me know.
 

another thing i've noticed seem run little bit warmer macbook pro expected, , machine doesn't seem displaying signs of straining under pressure.

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
