iMac Fusion Drive perfomance loss with File Vault


hello,

got retina imac 3tb fusion drive. when used blackmagic’s speed test measured disk speed of around >300 mb/s write , >600 mb/s read.

have turned on file vault , seem measure reduced speed of 200 mb/s write , 500 mb/s read, 20%-30% perfomance loss. higher marginal perfomance loss associated disk encryption.

expected? i.e. fusion drive algorithms cannot cope file vault?

thoughts appreciated.

blackmagic uses incompressible data tests, , fv2 known little slower incompressible data. try test aja , see get. there slight write slowdown fv.

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
