Lag in HiDPI resolutions will never be fixed on current rMBP

apple never fix lag on rmbp because impossible on current hardware.

have base 15' 2012 rmbp 650m gpu. have briefly tested on newer versions of 15 rmbp , none of them solve lag issue.

hidpi resolutions upscaling , downscaling intensive. animations never smooth ios. amazing apple able create hidpi resolutions current generation gpus. of through deep optimizations through software side.

when people current lag can resolved through software, disagree. apple might have made lag worse between mavericks , yosemite, mavericks had lag. apple going against limitations of hardware , facing massive computation problem has increasing hidpi resolutions not scale.

increasing hidpi resolutions creates exponential drop in ui performance. hence why ipad , iphone 6 can buttery smooth 99% of time , rmbp 90%; due hidpi resolutions picked based on device screen size.. higher resolution go more intense computing/gpu power need.

workaround "reduce transparency" , use non-hidpi resolution high enough still looks on retina screen. using rdm can use resolution of non hidpi 1900x1200 or 2048x1280.

resetting p-ram or other workarounds not work. excited wwdc brings on rmbp front. apple had 3 years did not improve rmbp besides minor updates. hope custom silicon handle intensive upscaling/downscaling or create own gpu.

i think fixed reasons mentioned. things turning on reduced transparency helps greatly. can imagine further tweaks software can made eliminate lag altogether. not forgert, lag introduced yosemite.
