What Is "Normal" Battery Life on the iPhone 5 (5s)

i upgraded 5s (64 gb) 4 (32 gb). :)

big shocker battery life. i'm having problems determining "normal" iphone 5 (particularly 5s...if there's difference). research indicates batter life complaint 5, , i've done research , turned off wastes power (that can live without).

here typical routine 5s.

home 6 pm. 5s needs charging. on charge brick ipad2. home, put phone on airplane mode live outside of cell service , don't have wifi. once charged (100%), disconnect power , phone little more alarm clock. go off bed 8:30 - 9:00 pm.

wake @ 3:00 days. point battery down 70+% power. under similar circumstances, old 4 still in 90+% range.

have things before leave, plug in 5s 100%. when leave, turn off airplane mode.

end of work day (5:00 pm), 5s down 20-30% power. phone sees little use beyond e-mail alerts , texting. place or receive calls. old 4 40-50% under same circumstances.

often, omit charging 4 when got home , plug in @ work next day. can't 5s.

weekend, charged 5s 100% friday night. sunday morning, i'm under 20% phone sitting on table in airplane mode. old 4 through monday evening without needing charged.

"normal" life expectancy on full charge? i'd know how identify unusual consumption on device reputed have issues battery life.

thanks.

do have apps running in background? also, if set apps try update content in background , put phone on airplane mode said apps try on , on , on again drains battery life.
