Keyboard and mouse become unresponsive after ~24 hours

hi all,

have late 2013 model 21.5" imac running yosemite version 10.10.5. issue after display goes sleep (i have set not let computer enter full sleep mode because run programs overnight), keyboard , mouse stop working. first noticed problem while running cpu-intensive script (using 8 virtual cores week), it's since happened multiple times when had nothing open overnight other firefox. happened safari , few other low-intensity things open (mail, ichat, etc).

few other things might worth noting. keyboard mac usb keyboard, older computer (this one: http://www.staples.com/apple-keyboa...owc9dfzmr0nzlwjge0onaqaaq1i8p8haq&kpid=164094 )

, mouse microsoft optical mouse, although it's happened mouse , keyboard (although same model of keyboard). mouse plugged keyboard, plugged computer, happened mouse plugged directly computer.

tips welcome, reading!
