hi; have got rmbp 13 inch 2015 base model. understanding is/was battery life on new machines suppose around 10 hours, @ least. however, machine consumes around average 10% per 30 minutes, lasting more or less 5 hours. happening when usage @ minimum (i.e. using apple's pages).
presently use rbmp typing only, followed browsing, , watching movies. 3rd party apps on rmbp skype & vlc. no add-ons safari either; though, did update 8.0.6 , keeps showing in list of apps may using significant energy , than. but issue has been there before safari's latest update.
anyway, anyone has bought similar machine (& knowledgable) can kindly inform me:
1. how avg. battery life get?, during minimum usage?
2. amount of 'time-remaining' battery icon shows @ full 100% charge?
didn't notice if had better battery life before updated os 10.10.3. so, can't if result of yosemite's update.
did reset pram , smc well. prior reset battery showed more or less 5 or 6 hours remaining. after reset battery time remaining fluctuates between 7 9 hours. first % (or 100th %) seems stable usage, lasting 10 minutes or so. however, counting down 99th % battery goes down 4 5 hours both in terms of time-remaining stated rmbp & actual usage.
screen brightness!!!
if using @ full brightness it'll hammer battery, if using chrome hammer battery. apples battery tests use specific conditions (75% brightness , running safari name couple) , reviews suggest live these numbers or better.
take here try tricks if it's still bit rubbish apple atke look.
