A little help for my father-in-law

hi guys.

we've had call partners mother. apparently popped on fathers pc fix-us.com — usual 'you have virus call fix it' scam.

so, being elderly man called , handed on £190 fix it. needless say, money gone i'm more concerned might have installed on computer.

know isn't mac, uses windows pc, remember form pc days logical steps checking malware , spyware on pc , making sure clean , safe. think they've installed i've told him not use again until there.

in advance.

this kind of thing at.

want install avg antivirus free onto computer. program , years of using have determined notifies of virus once it. example: have virus in file in "downloads" folder, once navigate downloads folder, avg pop instantly telling file thinks virus. due note anti-virus programs tend harmless applications viruses such tweaknt or wincustomizer. make sure install avg, let update run complete scan on system. have no other windows open , not use computer scan in process because doing slow down , take scan longer.

edit: it's possibility install linux onto computer..... never has worry viruses again
