Replacing my stolen iPhone 6 Plus

hi all,

mugged (non-violently thankfully) iphone 6 plus, , did proper things , getting replaced insurance (presumably) same model.

have few questions now. stolen iphone on 'find iphone'. when restore new model old backup, replace device in 'find iphone', or differentiated (by imei or something).

can rename old device (as wanted give new device same name), or should delete 'find iphone' , move on...

other advice?

i've had phone replaced twice, thankfully not because mugged though. in each case, restored icloud backup , ended 2 devices same name (apple sees them via imei though have different name).

delete old 1 icloud.

if haven't already, since old 1 still on find iphone, i'd issue wipe command (that won't wipe out backup in icloud).
