Siri not connecting promptly


when attempt access siri (ios 8 on either iphone 6 or iphone 5s) when phone asleep, no siri connection (i'm on wifi). "wavy line" indicating connection flat, , no "beep." usually, if dismiss siri , try again, after 5 times connection. @ home.

when i'm out , about, or @ work, have no trouble accessing siri first time.

i'm assuming going on wifi connection slow reestablish after phone wakes up. i'm running ea3500 router. however, can happen on lte well.

there way test theory router being culprit?

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
