FIX (possible) Apple Music/iCloud Music metadata


i did following possible apple music/icloud music library metadata fix 16 hours ago. itunes has been open , playing entire time except quick close/open sure stick.

here steps took. may not necessary i’m including did.

  • before enabling show apple music , icloud music library make copy of itunes library.itl & library.xml files safe location backup (desktop/backup
  • make duplicates of playlists if problem (it still seems screw them up)
  • open itunes , enable show apple music , icloud music library, wait (only) until ready
  • the following 2 steps must done quickly before icml damage
  • make metadata change on song (just change star rating or add heart)
  • copy itunes library.itl & library.xml files safe location (desktop/apple music) before iclm screws
  • confirm itunes still ‘clean’, if icml beat need repeat
  • sit , wait iclm it’s damage
  • close itunes , copy apple music (not backup) itunes library.itl & library.xml files desktop/apple music user: music: itunes folder (replace)
  • the following 4 steps must done quickly before icml damage
  • open itunes, go user: music: itunes folder
  • highlight , right click: get info on library.itl & library.xml files
  • change read & write privilege on both read only
  • check locked check box
  • wait icml it’s damage (strange see in itunes doesn’t/can’t change files)
  • close itunes , reopen
  • change read & write privilege on both
  • uncheck locked check box

seems icml ‘thinks’ made changes since files locked changes didn’t stick. icml seems content changes ‘didn’t ‘ make.

updated os x 10.10.5 (beta) hour ago , itunes metadata still intact. have made full day @ on 22 hours. i'm starting feel confident have fixed apple music/icloud music library metadata problems.

no 1 wants join me?

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
