Apple Watch, iPhone, Health and Activity

do these work seamlessly, , in conjunction each other. instance, if watch doesn't pick steps reason, iphone does, watch pull missing steps health , add them step fitness totals activity?

second, have switched using activity tracking of runs. however, still manually enter runs nike+ running, has of historical run data several years, friends on there, etc.

i've noticed watch , nike+ both write health same run. revoke nike+'s health writing privilege. there harm or chance of improper stats if continue allow nike+ write health - have make sure when enter runs nike + exact date , time accurate?

the short answer is, it's bit complicated.

"activity" app on apple watch, , on iphone appear me based purely off of movement , calories recorded solely on apple watch.

example, if leave watch @ home, , use other apps such strava, or iphone's own motion tracking, health app on iphone increase in steps , other metrics, since watch not invited party, has no idea.

but, if wear watch, , record activity on it, it's activity end in health app, other apps.

@ end of day, health app place stored , aggregated. not apps (apple watch, included) read data out of health app.

(and, not apps, write data health app).

hope in future update, when @ "how close finishing rings" on apple watch, includes activities not invited to, long in health app. but, doesn't currently.

cheers
