apple has since removed "free on itunes" graphic itunes store homepage, , set prices on songs kept free after weekly promotions ended, leading speculation free songs may no longer offered unlimited streaming available through apple music fixed monthly price. apple music costs $9.99 per month after free three-month trial period.

not entirely surprising if apple shuttered program, whether temporarily or permanently, no official announcement has been made. link "free on itunes" section remains accessible on righthand side of itunes store, apple continues offer other free content, including movies, tv shows, apps, books , podcasts, in united states.
