PS3 Controller won't even appear when plugged in


i'm pull hair out. i've scrolled through these forums , many other old threads following these simple instructions on how connect ps3 mac. nothing works, can drop down menu @ top of screen sees ps3 controller. can't work when it's plugged in, less see has ps3 controller plugged it!

after reading numerous threads i've downloaded drivers, tried hard shutdown after unplugging bluetooth devices, did hokey pokey , turned myself around no luck. i've tried kinds of "combinations" of plugging in , unplugging , pressing reset button, sound logical if damn computer tell has controller plugged it.

i'm give up, while read other people saying, "just plug in , play bro." punch in throat if right in front of me.

macbook pro (15-inch 2008)
2.5 ghz intel core 2 duo
4 gb 667 mhz ddr2 sdram
nvidia geforce 8600m gt 512 mb
osx yosemite
 

1. connect ps3 controller usb cable attached

2. in bluetooth menu in menu bar see listed range of numbers. click on , connect

3. unplug usb cable

4. go bluetooth menu , click ps controller - choose connect

5. it wont appear in bluetooth preferences - in bluetooth menu here

6. play .... when want disconnect - click on bluetooth menu , choose disconnect.

don't need drivers or additional software unless button mapping. plug in , play. worked 3 seconds ago lego jurassic world (steam) - no additional configuration required.

[SOLVED] SFOTT usb key not bootable Mavericks
