i got mac pro 5,1 2010 dual 2.4ghz processors. installed asus gtx 750ti nvidia web drivers , cuda drivers. had problems getting display (besides screen share) switched original 5770. installed kingston predator hyperx pci ssd port 4. did clean install, set drive boot disk , erased original. left drive unencrypted make logins easier. computer works great except have nvram reset everytime turn on. if not boots normal goes screen circle line through it. uninstalled nvidia drivers, mainually removed cuda drivers , did clean os x reinstall. still funky looking login window. cant figure out how boot computer without doing nvram reset. have ideas? tomorrow installing 2 x5975s (with lids), 16gb of 1333mhz ecc ram owc , flashed 7970 ebay. video card comes seller 99% positive feedback, have fingers crossed. installed couple sata 2 velociraptors.   sorry grammer have shizoid disorder

hey all, thought i'd post bit of info in case else has similar issue. last night, plugged in 12" rmb , left alone bit , noticed backup didn't work (to time capsule) , wasn't charging. instead of 56% battery had dropped 53%. thinking maybe cable loose, reseated connections , such still no dice. moved power supply around different outlets didn't work. hunted online possible solution , thing found apple support doc said smc reset macbook, air , pro power issues. did and... "killed" laptop. no longer boot @ all. left plugged because power supply did bit warm when charging. after few hours, no luck. tried smc reset (actually several times) trying hold in power button 10-20 seconds , such still no power. macbook macbrick. left unplugged rest of night, tried morning and... still nothing. took apple store geniuses. took 2.5 hours see , messed bit , broke out new usb-c power adapter , did smc reset. nothing. after leaving plug

itunes horrible metadata, , result, library messed up. there 3 major problem i'm having: 1.) songs/albums disappearing completely: in days before buying music itunes store mainstream, imported entire collection of cds (we're talking hundreds) itunes. i've migrated library several new computers since then, , half of music gone no trace. now, don't have computer optical drive. might buy external one, don't want import of cds again. 2.) album titles/artwork disappearing: itunes infamous showing "unknown album" blank album cover on half of library. seems happen randomly no rhyme or reason, , there doesn't seem obvious fix. granted, names of songs still there. however, it's inconvenient , painful people myself have ocd. 3.) split albums/duplicate songs: there way many instances of duplicate songs in itunes library , again, no easy way alleviate problem. new problem that's started happening same album appearing twice,

hello all, i'm considering getting new macbook though largely need work while traveling , important documents iwork '09. tragedy has been iwork suite "update" makes newer versions unusable me. purchased cd, moved .pkg file thumb drive, install on mavericks, 9.3 update , good. after installing on home laptop (with mavericks), updated yosemite , still works, on work computer tried installing on yosemite , never worked, bumped down mavericks , viola, works. considering new mackbook ships yosemite, have couple options , questions: 1) possible install mavericks on new macbook? 2) has been able install iwork '09 on yosemite (i.e. not upgrading mavericks)? 3) has checked compatibility of iwork '09 on el capitan? either installing directly or updating yosemite? much,   no not possible install mavericks on macbook 8,1.   Foru

my main computer right late 2009 macbook die day now. should buy refurbished late 2013 retina macbook pro 13 inch, or build own computer , install mac os 10 on it? want rmbp because it's portable , can use @ school (it's 1 of ipad schools, allow use macbooks too). want build own computer because it's cheaper , it's more powerful. anyways, on these computers: make iphone , ipad apps xcode use unreal engine 4 work on video game do school work pages , keynote light gaming, garry's mod , minecraft (i don't care video games, unless i'm making one) web design dreamweaver photoshop some light video editing in adobe premiere so budget around $1200, think should rmbp or build own computer? have build own computer already, didn't want deal hackintosh problems , want portability can use @ school. i'm kind of stuck here, guys think should do?   moomanjoh
