i running yosemite 10.10.4 beta on macbook pro (15-inch, 2011), 2.2 ghz intel core i7, 16 gb ram , 480 gb intel ssd, replaced 750 gb hdd. has dedicated amd radeon 6750 gpu 1024 ddr ram. after having typical gpu issue replaced gpu , had peace couple of months gpu issue returned. anyway not problem writing about. asking strange behavior mbpro doesn't wake after being in sleep mode. when opening mbpro screen stays dark, keyboard light doesn't come on. when close mbpro light on front right turn on , stays on , fan starts run after time. thing can do hard reset via power button. then, when boot screen progress bar , apple logo come up, bar fills 1 fifth , bar , apple logo disappear. screen turn greyish blue , nothing else happens. can reboot again via hard reset , run diagnostic test pressing option + d. test finds no issues (neither short nor long version do) , after test can reboot without issues. works when press option when rebooting , sele

hi there while i've thought upgrading hard drive came along macbook pro 13" (2011 late) ssd, never came outside thoughts.. yesterday when playing around on (running yosemite), froze, , after waiting 5 minutes non responding mbp, decided shut down holding down power button - resulted in mbp unable boot (it let me go through login scene loading bar stuck somewhere halfway , automatically turn off after 5-10 minutes. ran through steps concerning problem, unfortunately nothing seemed work out me... stupidly freaked out in disk utility while booted in recovery mode, , hdd won't mount, repair, format , can't chosen boot (mbp shows blinking folder question mark inside when trying boot). seems totally dead me, though ain't no expert on subject. i'm confused , have bunch of questions needed answered , appreciate help, because i'm kinda helpless... 1. how sure can replacing hdd new ssd solve problem? 2 . saying replacement solve it, e

never had decent computer. computer have atm 10 yrs old hp desktop. yep. macbook pro 15 inch retina has been dream computer. it. here's shot. - late 2013 - macbook pro retina 15" - 2.3 ghz i7 turbo 3.6ghz - 512 gb ssd - 16 gb ram - intel iris pro - nvidia geforce gt 750m (- definetly important me on machine.) price : 2000$ cad no taxes not cent more. 2000$cad=1539$usd other is -middle 2012 -macbook pro retina 15'' -256gb ssd -8gb ram. -intel graphics 4000 -nvidia geforce 650m apple care until april 2016 comes case , bag price : 1450$ cad = 1115$usd. don't know right call on one. planning on using computer next 3 years, @ least...   late 2013. $400 more gets double ssd, ram, storage speed, faster processor, faster gpu. honestly, either 1 last 3 years+, , $1115 2012 still great price machine is. both good, depends on computing needs, , how badly

i have 15" mid-2012 classic mbp both main personal , work computer. own outright, use work related tasks. university has implemented policy computers-whether or university owned-that used handle sensitive information have employ file encryption. because handle student information(i'm adjunct instructor in addition regular work duties) have follow policy. policy does state file vault in os x meets required encryption standards. i'm not disagreeing policy-in fact think it's great(and necessary) idea-but have small concern it. i'm planning upgrade computer ssd soon, budget won't permit me buy drive want(1tb samsung evo) until next month. have until end of month implement encryption, , prefer sooner rather later. had intended clone current drive when installed ssd(what i've done virtually every other ssd installation i've done). i've used carbon copy cloner. i'm wondering if file vault affect ability correctly clone
